The answers were difficult but provided a glimpse into the discrimination some of our members and their clients experience on a daily basis. Through this introspection, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council was created. Mission The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council (Council) exists to create and sustain an inclusive culture at the South Carolina Association of REALTORS® (SCR) that embraces diversity at all levels of our organization as well as throughout our membership. This ensures that SCR is able to promote and champion equity for all home and property owners in the state of South Carolina. Vision To truly be a member-driven organization where the voices at the table are representative of the entire state of South Carolina. By taking action within the real estate industry, we believe we can affect lasting change within the communities in which we live. DEI Book Club The Diversity Equity and Inclusion Council created the DEI Book Club to encourage insightful dialogue between our Realtor® members throughout the state. Our mission is to be a truly member-driven organization where we embrace diversity and provide open forums to discuss matters of historical and cultural importance. Leadership Academy Diversity Scholarship Applications for the Class of 2025 will be open in Summer 2024 The Diversity Leadership Academy scholarship exists to create and sustain an inclusive culture at South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) that embraces diversity in leadership positions. Up to five (5) Realtors will be selected to have their full tuition covered. Currently the tuition is $1500 per student. To be eligible, you must be a primary member of SCR (in good standing), must complete leadership academy application, must answer two essay questions and must provide a letter of recommendation.
